Our Story
Urban Organics didn't grow overnight. It was built deliberately
— shaped by years of hands-on experience, high standards, and a commitment to doing the work well, every single time.
Brittany Maffia
CEO/Founder
Urban Organics began with a simple, intuitive approach to hospitality—rooted in seasonal cooking, natural beauty, and a belief that the most memorable gatherings are the ones that feel both thoughtful and effortless. Founder Brittany Maffia built the company from the ground up, starting with intimate dinners and organically growing a following drawn to her ability to create experiences that felt warm, personal, and quietly refined. There was never a formula—just an instinct for how people gather, connect, and remember.
Over time, that instinct evolved into something far more expansive. Today, Urban Organics is a boutique luxury catering and event production studio, known for crafting highly curated events that balance understated elegance with a deeply personal touch. The company has intentionally shifted from high-volume catering to a more considered, design-forward approach—where fewer events allow for greater detail, creativity, and care. Each experience is layered with vibrant, seasonal menus, thoughtful styling, and seamless execution, resulting in gatherings that feel immersive, elevated, and entirely their own.
What began at one table has grown into a full production company — and the ambition that drove those early events is still what drives every one we produce today.
The difference isn't just in what we produce — it's in how we approach it. Every event is considered from the ground up, with intention built into every decision along the way.

"A ritual that keeps me grounded during busy seasons is making sure that one evening out of every week I have a movie night with my three boys. We pick out a movie, lay out blankets on the floor, make homemade popcorn on the stove with olive oil, nutritional yeast and sea salt, then I soak in all the cuddles."

“When I'm seeking inspiration to design a menu, I always end up looking toward the coast. It's a landscape I know well - growing up in Monterey the Pacific Ocean was a comforting, enveloping presence in my every day life. For a menu, local and sustainable seafood will always always be top of mind, often coupled with produce from nearby farms. I'm drawn to simple, timeless presentations inspired by other coastal food traditions.”

“A perfect Sunday morning starts with fresh coffee and time in the backyard, surrounded by the sounds of nature. It’s my go-to place to recharge. I enjoy gardening and spending time with my four doodles.”

Executive Hospitality Manager
“A local ritual that keeps me connected to this place. We live around such incredible beauty here in the bay and there are countless ways to feel a connection to it all.
For me, even a quiet moment taking in the clouds over the water, the fog creeping over the hills or the sight of the majestic redwoods we live amongst lift me up and keep me mindful of the tremendous abundance we enjoy everyday.
Holding the memory of the original people of this native land is never far from my mind. It’s not so much a ritual but the daily awareness that keeps me rooted.

"My perfect day off is a lazy afternoon spent on my couch in cozy pajamas, with the windows open, my cat in my lap, and a perfectly chilled lemon drop in hand while I read a really good book."

Sous Chef
“My current culinary obsession is fermented foods. I love taking on fermentation projects and exploring the depth and range of flavors they offer, from miso and sauerkraut to my homemade hot sauces and condiments, using them to build complexity and balance in my cooking”
Collaborative in approach. Experienced in the lead.
We work closely with our clients — listening carefully, asking the right questions, and building a shared understanding of what the event needs to be. But we don't wait to be directed. We come with a clear process, an experienced perspective, and the confidence to guide the work in a way that makes the entire experience feel easy and well-managed.
Our values
The Standard We Hold.
Everything we produce is measured against one question: is this excellent? Not adequate, not close — excellent. That standard applies to the food, the design, the service, and every detail in between.
The Experience We Create.
Hospitality is more than service — it's the feeling a guest carries with them long after the event is over. We design every experience with that feeling in mind: warm, considered, and genuinely memorable.
The Relationships We Build.
We believe the best events come from genuine partnership. With our clients, our vendors, and our team, we lead with respect, communicate with clarity, and show up fully at every stage of the process.
The Energy We Bring.
The environment we create matters — for our clients, our guests, and our team. We choose to approach the work with positivity, care, and the kind of steady presence that makes everything feel well in hand.
The Ownership We Take.
When we commit to an event, we own it completely. Every detail, every decision, every outcome. Our clients trust us to deliver — and that trust is something we take seriously every single time.
The Community We're Part Of.
We source seasonally, support local farmers and producers, and approach sustainability as a genuine practice — not a talking point. Being a responsible business is part of what it means to do good work.
